About this ride
Champion Lakes is a 5 km sealed dual-use loop around the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre near Armadale, about 33 km south-east of Perth. It's mostly level and wheelchair and pram friendly, so it's a great spot for kids learning to ride. It's also pancake flat and fast: the Australian Time Trials Association runs time trials on the closed path, so it's a favourite for TT practice outside event times. You might see rowing, canoeing or dragon boat crews training on the purpose-built course. Start from the Henley Drive car park, which has toilets, and visit the Aboriginal Interpretive Centre at its eastern end. Dogs are allowed on lead.
