About this ride
Coburg Velodrome is a historic outdoor cycling track in Coburg North, Melbourne, and the home of the long-running Coburg Cycling Club. Located at Richards Reserve on Charles Street, the 250-metre velodrome is regarded by the club as one of Victoria’s premier outdoor cycling tracks and provides a dedicated venue for track racing, training and rider development. Coburg Cycling Club itself has an impressive history stretching back to 1896, making it one of Australia’s oldest cycling clubs. Over the years, club riders have gone on to compete at the Olympic Games, Tour de France and national and state championships, giving the velodrome a strong connection to Melbourne’s cycling heritage. During the summer track season, the club runs regular training at the velodrome for junior and senior riders, with track bikes available for riders wanting to experience the discipline. The club also supports road racing, criterium racing, recreational rides and junior development. Whether you're searching for Coburg Velodrome, track cycling in Melbourne, cycling tracks in Melbourne’s northern suburbs or Coburg Cycling Club, Coburg Velodrome is an important part of Melbourne’s cycling scene. RTS Tip: This is an active club training and racing venue, and some cycling opportunities require club membership.
