Glenorchy MTB Park
About this ride
Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park, at the top of Tolosa Street in Hobart’s northern suburbs, is a free public MTB park packed with cross-country, downhill, mountain-cross and dirt-jump riding. Designed originally by renowned trail designer Glen Jacobs and significantly upgraded in 2023, the park caters from beginners right through to expert riders, with trails ranging from green to double-black. Three signed loops make exploring easy: the 3km Silk Road for newer riders, 3.2km Merton Loop and 3.8km Challenger Loop, while the wider park adds berms, jumps, drops and technical gravity features. It also connects directly into the North-South Track, opening the door to a much bigger adventure through Wellington Park and towards kunanyi / Mount Wellington. RTS Tip: If it’s your first visit, use one of the three signed loops to get your bearings before exploring the harder gravity trails. Experienced riders should still inspect features before committing — some tracks contain extreme jumps, drops and obstacles. For a bigger ride, link the park with the 11km North-South Track to The Springs, giving you one of Hobart’s classic MTB connections.
