Glenwood Forest Trails
About this ride
Glenwood Forest Trails, around 15 minutes west of Orange on the slopes of Mount Canobolas, are one of the Central West’s standout mountain biking destinations. Built and maintained by Orange Mountain Bike Club in partnership with Forestry Corporation of NSW, the network makes great use of more than 400m of elevation and caters for beginner through to advanced riders. Galinbundinya, Onwards & Upwards and Trail of Awesomeness combine to create an approximately 20km loop, climbing alongside Boree Creek towards Federal Falls before rewarding riders with flowing singletrack and a long descent. More experienced riders can branch onto harder gravity options, while parts of the network also cater for adaptive mountain bikes. RTS Tip: Glenwood is a working pine forest, so checking the latest trail status before every visit is essential. Forestry operations can temporarily close trailheads and sections of trail — Orange Mountain Bike Club currently advises that some lower sections remain affected by harvesting operations. Follow all exclusion-zone signage and designated shuttle routes, and check the club’s trail page for the latest access information before setting out.
