Gordonbrook Dam Mountain Bike Trails
About this ride
Gordonbrook Dam Mountain Bike Trails, around 20 minutes north of Kingaroy in Queensland’s South Burnett, offer 13.8km of purpose-built singletrack across 11 trails right beside the scenic Gordonbrook Dam. Developed by the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club, the network caters from novice riders through to experienced XC racers, with green trails including First Crack, Chunnel, Bandicoot, Joeys and Antechinus, blue-rated Peanuts, Paper Scissors Rock and Big Dog, and the challenging 4.7km black-rated XCO OMG race loop. Expect flowing cross-country riding mixed with berms, jumps, rock features and technical A and B lines, with Tackers, a short beginner trail beside the main car park, giving younger riders somewhere to get started. RTS Tip: Turn Gordonbrook into a bigger adventure by riding there from the South Burnett Rail Trail at Memerambi. The signposted Gordonbrook Dam Route follows a mix of bitumen and gravel country roads out to the dam, where you can hit the singletrack before riding back. The lower trailhead has parking, basic toilets, picnic tables and shade, but no drinking water, so fill your bottles before setting off.
