Imbergers Loop

Imbergers Loop – Tenterfield Gravel Ride Imbergers Loop is a 40km gravel cycling route near Tenterfield, offering a great half-day adventure through the quiet country roads and rolling landscapes of the New England High Country. With around 670m of climbing, the loop packs a decent amount of elevation into its relatively manageable distance. It's a great option for riders wanting something more substantial than Tenterfield's shorter local loops without committing to one of the region's 80km+ gravel adventures. The route heads beyond town into classic Tenterfield countryside, where quiet rural roads, gravel surfaces and changing terrain provide plenty of variety. Imbergers Road itself forms part of the local rural road network, helping take riders away from the busier roads and into the surrounding landscape. Tenterfield has become a brilliant base for gravel riding in northern NSW, with everything from short introductory loops through to full-day rides and multi-day bikepacking adventures. Imbergers Loop sits nicely in the middle — long enough to feel like a proper ride, but achievable in a few hours for riders with reasonable fitness and gravel experience. It's also an easy one to combine with a longer stay in Tenterfield, giving riders plenty of time afterwards to explore town or line up another of the region's gravel routes for the following day.
