About this ride
Kanbyugal is Sydney’s south-west’s newest purpose-built mountain bike network, sitting in Kanbyugal Reserve at Woodbine. Stage 1 opened in September 2026 with 10 trails for beginners through to advanced riders, signed to the Australian Mountain Bike Trail Difficulty Rating: green circle, blue square, and black diamond. The trails follow the reserve’s natural terrain and include built features meant to step riders up, not just shuttle them down. It is a daylight-only park. Council can close it for wet weather, maintenance, or fire danger, so check trail status and park alerts before you roll. There is no dedicated car park yet. Street parking on North Steyne Road is limited, so the short ride from Leumeah Station, or the 879 bus to the trailhead, is the better option. Stage 2 is expected to start in 2027 and add more than 18 trails, better links between tracks, supporting facilities, and a proper car park. The finished network is planned at over 13 km.
