Kentlyn MTB Trails
About this ride
Kentlyn MTB Trails – Campbelltown The Kentlyn MTB Trails are a long-established mountain bike network hidden in the bushland around Kentlyn and Peter Meadows Creek near Campbelltown in South West Sydney. Known for their raw, technical character, these trails offer a very different experience from the purpose-built riding at nearby Mount Annan. Current mapping shows around 28 MTB trails and approximately 19km of mapped riding, with a mixture of cross-country, descending and technical singletrack. Kentlyn is classic Sydney sandstone mountain biking. Expect plenty of rocks, rock gardens, ledges, short punchy climbs, technical descents and natural features, with trails weaving through rugged bushland above the Georges River. It’s a network where good line choice and confident bike handling can make a big difference. Popular mapped trails include Rock Trail, Magic Carpet, Spank It, Drop Bears and Boronia Single Track, with numerous connecting trails allowing riders to piece together different loops. Rock Trail alone runs for around 5km and includes berms, drops, rock faces and rock gardens, while some of the descending trails step the difficulty up considerably. Kentlyn has been used by local mountain bikers for many years. Campbelltown City Council has previously recognised the area as containing a wide range of riding, including cross-country, short downhill and flow trails, although the network has historically had a complicated status rather than operating as a formally developed MTB park. For riders searching for Kentlyn mountain bike trails, Campbelltown MTB, mountain biking in South West Sydney or technical MTB trails near Sydney, Kentlyn is one of the region’s better-known old-school riding areas. RTS Tip: Kentlyn is best treated as a local natural trail network rather than a formally managed bike park. Use current mapping to choose your trails and understand their difficulty, and pay attention to land-access signage or closures on the ground. Some trails are genuinely technical, so don’t assume the whole network is suitable for newer riders.
