Lindrook Loop – Tenterfield Gravel Ride The Lindrook Loop is a 20km gravel ride near Tenterfield, offering a shorter and more approachable way to experience the rugged landscapes and quiet backroads of the New England High Country. With around 250m of climbing, this is a great option for riders who are newer to gravel, looking for a relaxed half-day adventure, or simply wanting to squeeze another ride into a weekend exploring Tenterfield. The route heads into the countryside around Lindrook Road, where unsealed roads and forest surroundings provide a taste of the more adventurous riding the region is known for without the distance and climbing of Tenterfield's bigger gravel routes. This area also provides access towards Basket Swamp National Park, a spectacular part of the region characterised by granite country, forest, creeks and remote high-country landscapes. The wider Lindrook and Basket Swamp area features in several of Tenterfield's longer gravel adventures, making this shorter loop a great introduction before taking on something bigger. Allow around three hours to explore the route at a comfortable pace, particularly if you're stopping along the way to enjoy the scenery. With everything from short gravel loops through to huge day rides and multi-day bikepacking routes available nearby, Tenterfield is well worth treating as a complete gravel cycling destination in northern NSW rather than somewhere you visit for just one ride.
