About this ride
The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail is a shared path of about 25 km following Moonee Ponds Creek from Docklands north toward Westmeadows and Woodlands Historic Park. The lower section doubles as part of the Capital City Trail beside CityLink before peeling away past Essendon Airport through parks to the Western Ring Road Trail and Broadmeadows Valley Trail. It is mostly flat bitumen with a few wooden decks — watch blind corners and the gravel bank near Flemington Bridge.
