
Mountain Ave Grose Trig Climb
About this ride
Mountain Ave is a solid firetrail climb popular with locals for training, packing roughly 400 m of elevation into less than 5 km. It’s a reliable leg tester with a steep gradients that keeps you working to the top. At the top, the trail pushes into hike‑a‑bike territory as it continues toward the Grose Head South trig point. From there you can drop through the saddle to the Grose Head South lookout before looping back into Winmalee, or simply turn around and enjoy the fast, flowing descent back down Mountain Ave. The area also provides access to hiking trails leading to the Grose River and the remnants of the historic Grose River Engineers Track. The ride begins at the closed gate where the sealed surface of Mountain Avenue ends.
