Mt Banks
About this ride
Mount Banks, Banks Wall Lookout Ride is a scenic 12 km return gravel and mountain bike ride that follows a gentle fire trail along the edge of the Grose Wilderness. Starting at the Mount Banks car park off Bells Line of Road, the route winds through heathland and open eucalypt forest beneath the distinctive basalt-capped summit of Mount Banks. Frequent gaps in the bush reveal sweeping views across the Grose Valley, while sandstone cliffs and rocky outcrops provide a dramatic backdrop throughout the ride. The easy gradients make for relaxed riding, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery before reaching Banks Wall Lookout, where expansive views stretch across one of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the Blue Mountains. The return journey follows the same route back to the car park. No public transport nearby. There are toilets at the Carpark.
