About this ride

Muurlay Baamgala Cycle Trails are a named NSW National Parks cycling network in Bongil Bongil National Park near Coffs Harbour. Muurlay Baamgala means 'track at Bongil Bongil' in Gumbaynggirr. NPWS describes more than 80 km of relatively flat fire trails with natural-earth surfaces through eucalypt forest - a gentle introduction to mountain biking rather than technical singletrack, and notes the trails are great for kids and all levels of riders. NPWS recommends starting at Sid Burke picnic area off Pine Creek Way, where there is parking, toilets and a large bike map. From there riders can choose marked loops including Bawarr (8.5 km), Baranyjin (7 km) and Galnyam (12.5 km), or create their own route. Mountain bike riding is not permitted on walking tracks in the park. Advanced technical singletrack nearby is in Pine Creek State Forest (already covered on the hub as Cow with Guns & The Sawmill).
