Ngoolark MTB Jump Park
About this ride
The Ngoolark MTB Freestyle Jump Park, just 2 km north of Nannup in Western Australia’s South West, is a purpose-built mountain bike jump and skills park designed for riders to develop confidence, jumping technique and progression. Inspired by BMX-style dirt jump trails, the compact park features two 160 m downhill jump lines packed with sweeping berms, rollers, tabletops, step-downs and hip jumps, together with a dedicated 280 m return trail that gently climbs back to the start mound for another lap. The Nyini Ngoolark Biddi is the blue intermediate line, delivering a fast and flowing introduction to jump riding with berms, rollers, tabletops and step-down features. Experienced riders can progress to Boorung Ngoolark Biddi, the black advanced line, where larger, more technical and trickable jumps provide a significant step up in difficulty. Both lines finish onto Garruyul Biddi, the easy return trail back to the top. Ngoolark is part of the rapidly growing Nannup Trail Town network and provides a progression point for riders heading to the nearby Tank 7 Mountain Bike Park. Riders can drive to the trailhead off Miller Road and Vasse Highway, or ride from Nannup via the Old Timberline Trail / Munda Biddi Trail, making it easy to combine the jump park with a much bigger day of mountain biking around Nannup. The name Ngoolark is the Noongar name for the white-tailed black cockatoo. The site was identified as nesting habitat for the species, and the park was developed in consultation with the Karri Karrak Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee, with its design deliberately minimising disturbance to surrounding native bushland. RTS Tip: Start on Nyini Ngoolark Biddi and get comfortable with the speed and features before progressing to the black line — Boorung Ngoolark Biddi contains substantially larger jumps intended for experienced riders. There’s no drinking water or food available at the jump park, so bring supplies from Nannup. The area also contains Phytophthora dieback, so clean your bike before riding elsewhere; a free bike wash facility is available at Nannup Foreshore Park.
