Noosa Hinterland - Rock Pools & Ridgelines
About this ride
Rock Pools & Ridgelines is one of the toughest gravel rides in the Noosa Hinterland, taking experienced riders deep into the rugged landscapes surrounding Woondum National Park, Ringtail Forest and Beenham Valley. With over 100 kilometres of remote gravel roads, steep climbs, technical descents and isolated forest management tracks, this route delivers a genuine adventure through some of the wildest terrain in the region. Riders are rewarded with spectacular ridgeline views, dramatic valleys and the refreshing Mothar Mountain Rock Pools, but should be prepared for long periods away from services. Unlike many gravel routes, this ride includes sustained rough terrain that can become extremely challenging after rain. Strong fitness, confident bike handling and careful planning are essential. Ride Highlights Mothar Mountain Rock Pools Beenham Valley Spectacular ridgeline viewpoints Remote forest roads One of Noosa's most adventurous gravel routes Suitability Recommended for experienced riders only. A gravel bike with wide tyres is the minimum recommendation, while many riders will find a hardtail mountain bike more comfortable. Avoid attempting the route during or immediately after wet weather, as conditions can quickly become muddy, deeply rutted and technically demanding.
