Ocean Grove District Ride Centre

The Ocean Grove District Ride Centre, at Kingston Park in Ocean Grove on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, is a brand-new purpose-built riding facility designed for mountain bikes, BMX and other wheeled sports. The $3.5 million centre officially opened on 1 August 2026, giving local and visiting riders a dedicated progression-focused venue with jump lines, a pump track and skills features. Designed and constructed by World Trail, the centre features five dirt jump lines catering from beginner through to advanced riders. The lines incorporate rollers, berms, tabletops, hip jumps and a wall ride, allowing riders to progressively build confidence rather than having to jump straight onto large features. The overall facility is designed to accommodate around 100 riders at a time. A major feature is the approximately 130 m asphalt pump track, designed primarily for beginner and intermediate progression but suitable for a wide range of riders. Unlike the dirt jump lines, the asphalt circuit can also be used by BMX bikes, scooters and skateboards, making the centre particularly useful for families with kids interested in different riding disciplines. There are also skills and trials features designed to help riders improve bike control, stability and confidence before progressing onto the jump lines. Around the riding areas are landscaped spaces for spectators and families, along with shelters, seating and bike racks. The centre is fully fenced from the remainder of Kingston Park. The project has strong community roots. It grew from the huge number of informal bike jumps constructed around Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads during the COVID period. More than 60% of the makeshift jumps identified across Greater Geelong were in these two suburbs, prompting the City to work with local riders and the community to develop a permanent facility. Kingston Park was eventually selected because of its central location and existing park amenities. RTS Tip: This is a great destination for skills progression rather than traditional trail riding. Start on the pump track and beginner jump lines to get a feel for the features, then progressively work through the larger lines rather than jumping straight to the advanced options. It’s also a particularly good choice for families and mixed-ability groups, as riders can session different features while staying within the same compact facility. And because it only opened in August 2026, you’re riding one of Victoria’s newest dedicated bike parks.
