To Bolivia & Back – Tenterfield Gravel Ride To Bolivia & Back is a big 115km gravel cycling adventure from Tenterfield, taking riders north through the rugged granite country and remote forests of the New England High Country. With around 2,330m of climbing, this is a serious full-day ride. The route combines quiet country roads and flowing gravel with rougher, stony forest tracks, delivering plenty of variety as you leave Tenterfield behind and venture towards the historic locality of Bolivia. A highlight of the journey is the climb towards Bolivia Hill, where riders reach around 1,247m above sea level and are rewarded with expansive views across the surrounding high-country landscape. The terrain is a big part of what makes this ride special. Smooth gravel can quickly give way to rougher forest surfaces, while the combination of sustained climbing, remote country and more than 100km in the saddle makes this a much bigger challenge than Tenterfield's shorter gravel loops. For experienced gravel riders, though, that's exactly the appeal. Long stretches away from busy roads, granite landscapes, forest and classic New England scenery combine to create a genuine adventure ride and one of the standout big days in the Tenterfield gravel collection. With plenty of shorter loops and several multi-day bikepacking routes also starting around Tenterfield, To Bolivia & Back is a great ride to build into a longer New England High Country gravel cycling trip. RTS Tip: This is a long and remote ride, so come prepared for a full day out.
