Wedding Bells State Forest/Woolgoolga MTB Park
About this ride
Wedding Bells MTB Trails – Woolgoolga Wedding Bells State Forest is a dedicated mountain bike destination just north of Woolgoolga on the NSW Coffs Coast, offering a gravity-focused network of fast, flowing and technical singletrack through around 250 hectares of State Forest. The network has around 12km of trails, with riding ranging from strong beginner through to advanced. All of the MTB trails are single-direction, with a mixture of natural technical terrain and machine-built flow, plus progressive jumps and features for riders wanting to step things up. Wedding Bells is particularly well known for its gravity-style riding. The forest has just under 100m of vertical elevation, so the fire-road climbs back to the top aren't huge, but clever trail design allows for descents of up to 3km. That makes it easy to spend a session climbing, descending and trying different lines rather than completing one traditional XC loop. Trails include names such as King Brown, Bangers & Mash, Blind Collab, Green Goblin, Dirt Serpent and Sinusoidal Tendencies, giving riders plenty to explore across the network. The trails are maintained by the Woolgoolga Mountain Bike Club, which also coordinates group rides, junior development, trail-building days and events. Wedding Bells has become an established race venue too, hosting gravity enduro and other MTB events on the Coffs Coast. Access is via Sherwood Creek Road, with the upper trailhead at the 4-Way at the top of Stuarts Road. Large trail maps are installed at both the upper and lower trailheads and individual trails are named and marked. There are no toilets or water at the trailhead, although the Arrawarra Rest Area is only around 2km away and has toilets, water and shaded tables. For riders searching for Wedding Bells MTB, Woolgoolga mountain bike trails, Coffs Coast MTB, gravity trails near Coffs Harbour or mountain biking on the NSW North Coast, this is definitely one to put on the ride list. RTS Tip: Wedding Bells is a great choice if you like earning your descents without a massive climb back up. With everything from approachable flow through to technical and jump-focused trails, there's plenty of progression available. Check current conditions with Woolgoolga MTB Club before travelling and stay off the trails if your tyres are leaving marks after rain.
