About this ride
This 37 km Kangaroo Island Bicycle User Group loop starts and finishes at the American River wharf. It's about 80% dirt, with some sandy or corrugated sections. Ride the Investigator Trail along the water's edge to Independence Point, then Muston Road to a detour to surf beach Pennington Bay. Next comes the base of Prospect Hill, then Boundary and Red Banks roads out to the ochre cliffs at Redbanks on the north coast. Allow 3 to 4 hours plus stops.
