Andersons Trail
About this ride
Andersons Trail is a classic Blue Mountains mountain bike adventure, running through the remote bushland of Blue Mountains National Park between Wentworth Falls and Woodford. The 28km one-way route is rated hard and is best suited to experienced, fit and well-prepared riders, with ultra-steep sections, loose gravel, creek crossings and some seriously tough climbing. Best tackled west to east, the ride drops from Kings Tableland through open eucalypt forest before crossing Bedford Creek and beginning the long climb towards Woodford. Riders looking for an even bigger day can continue onto the Woodford–Oaks Trail, adding another 25km to the adventure. RTS Tip: Don’t underestimate this one. Andersons takes you into a remote section of the Blue Mountains with limited facilities and some demanding climbs, so carry plenty of water, food, a repair kit and navigation. Check NSW National Parks alerts before setting off, particularly after heavy rain, and consider using the train stations at Wentworth Falls and Woodford to help organise a point-to-point ride.
