About this ride

Colchester Road BMX Track is a purpose-built BMX racing facility at 195 Colchester Road, Kilsyth, in Melbourne’s outer east. The track is home to Maroondah BMX Club, also known as the Eastfield Eagles, which has called the Colchester Road facility home since relocating from Croydon in 1991. Designed for proper BMX racing, the track features a start gate, more than 20 jumps of varying sizes and three large banked turns, creating a fast and progressive course for riders developing their BMX skills or preparing for competition. The facility hosts club racing, coaching, practice gate nights and major BMX events, including Track Attack and AusCycling State Series racing. It caters for a broad range of ages and abilities, from young riders learning the basics through to experienced racers. The club has also been home to high-level competitors, including Rio 2016 Olympian Bodi Turner. Outside organised coaching and events, the track is open to the public seven days a week, making it a great option for riders wanting to experience a genuine BMX race track without necessarily competing. Riders should check the club’s latest updates before visiting, as public access is restricted when organised sessions or events are underway. RTS Tip: This is a proper BMX race track rather than a casual pump track, so expect a start hill, jumps and big berms designed to be ridden at speed. New to BMX? The club offers coaching and can even loan a bike, helmet and gloves while you give the sport a try.
