The Deepwater Loop
About this ride
The Deepwater Loop is a spectacular 238 km, 3-day bikepacking adventure through the New England High Country, with 68% unsealed roads and trails. Starting and finishing in Tenterfield, the route combines quiet forest roads, national parks, rolling farmland and historic country towns including Deepwater and Emmaville. While most of the ride follows smooth gravel roads suitable for intermediate riders, the rugged Torrington section features sandy, loose and rocky terrain that adds a fun technical challenge. With over 3,650 metres of climbing, manageable daily distances of 70–85 km, and plenty of scenic camping and township stops, it's an ideal multi-day escape for gravel riders and bikepackers seeking remote landscapes, big views and classic country hospitality.
