Djuwang Baring – Creswick Trails
About this ride
Djuwang Baring – Creswick Trails is an impressive 60km purpose-built mountain bike network winding through Dja Dja Wurrung Country around the historic gold-mining town of Creswick in Victoria’s Central Goldfields. Meaning “long track” in the Dja Dja Wurrung language, the network includes around 70 skill-rated trail segments arranged as stacked loops around a central spine, making it easy to build anything from a short family ride to a full day on the bike. The focus is on beginner and intermediate riding, but there are also difficult and extremely difficult trails, gravity lines, cross-country riding and around 30% of the network is adaptive-MTB suitable. Forest, old mining landscapes and scenic sections around St Georges Lake give the network plenty of character beyond the riding itself. RTS Tip: Start at Hammon Park Trailhead, just a short walk from Creswick’s town centre, where you’ll find parking, toilets, water, a pump track, learn-to-ride area, bike wash and repair station. Download the trail map or Trailforks before heading deeper into the network as mobile coverage varies. Check the current trail status too — seasonal maintenance and fire-danger closures can affect access.
