Echuca-Moama Velodrome
About this ride
The Echuca–Moama Velodrome is an outdoor cycling track in Moama, NSW, and home to the Echuca Moama Cycling Club, supporting track cycling, racing and rider development across the twin towns and wider Murray region. Located within Moama Recreation Reserve, the velodrome sits alongside a purpose-built criterium track, creating a dedicated cycling precinct where riders can train, race and develop their skills away from regular road traffic. The current velodrome was constructed in 1991–92, continuing a much longer history of cycling in Echuca–Moama. Organised cycling in the area can be traced back to 1869, while the famous Echuca Boxing Day Cycling Carnival began in 1906. The first Boxing Day Carnival at the new Moama velodrome was held in 1992. Today, Echuca Moama Cycling Club continues that tradition with track cycling, criterium and road racing, junior development and social riding. The club places a strong emphasis on welcoming riders of different ages and abilities and encouraging the next generation into cycling. For riders searching for Echuca Velodrome, Moama Velodrome, track cycling in Echuca–Moama, Echuca Moama Cycling Club or cycling facilities on the Murray River, the velodrome is an important part of the region's cycling scene. RTS Tip: The velodrome and neighbouring criterium circuit are active club training and racing facilities, so check current Echuca Moama Cycling Club activities before making a special trip. If you're interested in trying track cycling, getting in touch with the club is a great place to start.
