About this ride
Erica Mountain Bike Park, tucked into the tall forests and fern gullies surrounding the small Gippsland town of Erica, offers around 15km of official cross-country and all-mountain singletrack split across two distinct trailheads. The Eastern Trailhead at Mill Park has 9.3km of intermediate riding across Bones, Crazy Snake and Silvertop Spur, delivering classic hand-cut XC riding through beautiful forest. South of town, the Western Trailhead steps things up with the difficult Wheel Nuts and Winchline, where faster, more technical terrain makes for a considerably tougher ride. With Erica sitting at the gateway to Walhalla and the Mountain Rivers region, it’s also a great base for linking MTB with some of Gippsland’s nearby rail-trail adventures. RTS Tip: If it’s your first visit, start at Mill Park, only around 500m from the centre of Erica, before progressing to the more technical Western trails. There are no major facilities at the trailheads, but toilets, food and other amenities are available nearby in Erica township. The park is free to ride with no booking required, and it’s worth checking conditions before heading out, particularly after wet weather.
