Fleurieu Peninsula 3 Day Gravel Odyssey
About this ride
The Fleurieu Peninsula 3 Day Gravel Odyssey is a roughly 290 km, 3,960 m loop from Seaford, where you can arrive by train from Adelaide. It's about half unpaved, and 40 mm+ tyres are recommended. The suggested plan is to bike or flashpack with two nights in Normanville. Day one follows Gulf St Vincent from Seaford to Sellicks Beach and on via Myponga and Yankalilla. Day two loops out to Encounter Bay, Victor Harbor and Port Elliot. Day three heads back through Myponga and McLaren Vale wine country. Highlights include Myponga Reservoir and the Inman Valley gravel. Early on there's a tricky coastal singletrack section you can skip by staying on the road to Port Willunga. The steep, unmaintained gravel climb from Sellicks Beach can be bypassed on the main road. Plan your food and water: there are no services at Myponga Beach, or between Port Elliot and Normanville on day two.
