About this ride

Glossy Black Reserve, hidden among the suburbs of Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast, packs around 8km of purpose-built mountain bike trails into a compact patch of native bushland. The network is designed around green easy and blue intermediate riding, with eight dedicated MTB trails including Jumpin’ Ant Hill, Lazy Lizard, Rabbit’s Run, Cockys Climb, Drop Bear, Cascades, Test Run and Fledgling. Expect flowing singletrack, switchback climbs, berms, rollers, creek crossings and optional jumps and technical B-lines. Drop Bear is a standout for intermediate riders, delivering a fast descending run filled with berms, rollers and optional jumps, while Fledgling provides a short progression trail for beginners. RTS Tip: A great first lap is to climb Jumpin’ Ant Hill, continue through Lazy Lizard and finish with the flowing descent of Rabbit’s Run. Most of the dedicated MTB trails are one-way, while connecting fire trails are shared with walkers, so follow the directional signage and keep an eye out at crossings. Parking around the reserve is limited and surrounded by residential streets, so riding to the trailhead is encouraged where possible.
