Greenhill Road Climb
About this ride
Greenhill Road is one of Adelaide's most notorious climbs, and its length is what makes it hard. The Tour Down Under's Adelaide Bike Atlas measures it at 7.2 km at 6.5% average, from the Glynburn Road roundabout to the Mount Lofty Summit Road junction. The toughest ramps come early, with around 200 m over 9%. The gradient then settles through a series of bends before kicking back up to 9% as you pass Yarrabee Road near Greenhill. Traffic is low to medium and there's no bike lane, so avoid school and commuter peaks. If you want the summit, add about 3.3 km on Mount Lofty Summit Road. Otherwise, roll on to Summertown for coffee.
