About this ride
Grinter Reserve BMX Track is a dedicated BMX racing facility at Grinter Reserve on Coppards Road, Newcomb/Moolap, and is home to the Geelong BMX Club. The City of Greater Geelong describes it as the highest-standard BMX track in the region, making it an important hub for BMX racing and rider development in Geelong. The purpose-built race track caters for junior and senior BMX riders, with the Geelong BMX Club welcoming a broad range of ages and abilities. The venue is used for club activities, training and competition, providing riders with the opportunity to develop their skills on a genuine BMX race course. The facility continues to receive investment, with funding committed for track lighting to AusCycling’s 200-lux standard and asphalt track berms. Further upgrades to the BMX pavilion and track facilities are also being pursued, supporting Grinter Reserve’s development as a regional BMX centre for south-west Victoria. Grinter Reserve itself is a large multi-sport precinct with free parking, public toilets, a playground and skatepark, alongside sporting ovals and other recreation facilities. RTS Tip: This is a proper BMX race track rather than a casual pump track, so it’s a great one for riders looking to experience BMX racing or develop their skills. As the track is home to Geelong BMX Club and hosts organised activities, check club sessions and track access before heading out.
