Hanson Reserve Velodrome

Hanson Reserve Velodrome in Woodville Gardens is a classic Adelaide outdoor cycling venue and home base for Port Adelaide Cycling Club track activities. The 404.48m velodrome was completely rebuilt and returned to service in 2019, with a new concrete track and specialist cycling surface, safety fencing and lighting for night training and racing. The venue hosts track training, motor-paced sessions and racing, while the adjoining clubrooms include toilets, showers and change facilities. When the track and oval aren’t booked for organised sport, the velodrome is also available for general community use, making it one of Adelaide’s more accessible places to experience outdoor track riding. RTS Tip: Before jumping onto the track, have a read of the Hanson Reserve Riding Etiquette — the venue has specific guidance around track entry, riding lines, overtaking and stopping. During organised Port Adelaide Cycling Club sessions, riders need to register and the club has exclusive use of the track, so check the schedule before heading down.
