About this ride
High Country to Hume is a 345 km Adventure Cycling Victoria bikepacking route from Bairnsdale to Wodonga, usually ridden over four to six days on a gravel bike. It links the East Gippsland Rail Trail, quiet Omeo Highway valley roads beside the Tambo, alpine climbs over Christmas Creek, the Mitta Valley and the High Country Rail Trail along Lake Hume. V/Line serves both ends; best from spring to autumn, and check VicEmergency before committing to the alpine section.
