Kilcoy – Jimna Loop
About this ride
The Kilcoy – Jimna Loop is a 104 km adventure gravel loop from Kilcoy through the Conondale Range to the forestry village of Jimna and back via the Monsildale valley. After a flat start on Mount Kilcoy Road, the big climb starts around the 20 km mark, gaining nearly 500 m in about 4 km on steep 4WD double track with some washouts. From there you roll along the ridgeline to the Kilcoy–Murgon Road and Jimna, where Jimna Base Camp has weekend coffee, snacks and bookable camping, so it also works as an overnight bikepacking trip. The return is a long dirt descent past the old fire tower, then down quiet Monsildale Road and along Sheep Station Creek. Fill up at Jimna, because the next resupply is about 58 km away, and watch for traffic and livestock. Avoid the loop after extended rain.
