About this ride
Kings Park is Perth's go-to inner-city training loop. Riders lap the main park roads, including Fraser Avenue, May Drive, Lovekin Drive and Forrest Drive, for short repeated rises and views over the city and Swan River. Bikes are allowed on all main roads at the 40 km/h park limit, while shared paths are capped at 10 km/h. You can't ride in the Western Australian Botanic Garden, the State War Memorial precinct or developed parkland. Early mornings are best: tourist traffic and coaches build from mid-morning, and roads can close for events. Bike racks are near the main car parks and May Drive Parkland if you want a coffee stop.
