Kirkham Oval BMX Track – Macarthur BMX Club Kirkham Oval in Elderslie is home to Macarthur BMX Club, also known as the Macarthur Pirates, providing a dedicated BMX racing facility in Sydney’s Macarthur region. Located on the corner of Hilder Street and Camden Valley Way, the club was formed in 1998 by local families keen to establish BMX racing in the area. After several years of fundraising and development, the purpose-built Kirkham Park track officially opened in October 2001. The track was designed to offer something for riders at different stages of BMX, encouraging juniors and newer riders while still providing plenty of challenge for experienced racers. Today the club caters for everyone from Mini Wheelers on balance bikes through to junior, senior and masters BMX racers. Kirkham Oval has developed into a significant BMX racing venue, hosting club racing as well as major events. In 2026 the track hosted Rounds 3 and 4 of the AusCycling BMX Racing National Series, bringing riders from across Australia to Elderslie. The wider Kirkham Park sporting precinct also includes a skate park, playground, sporting fields and other recreation facilities, making it a handy destination for families.
