Langford Park

Langford Park in Jarrahdale, Western Australia, is a popular mountain biking destination in the Perth Hills, around 50 minutes south-east of Perth. Set amongst rehabilitated former bauxite mine areas and surrounding jarrah and marri forest, the park offers a network of signposted green and blue MTB trails aimed primarily at beginner and intermediate riders. Expect old-school, natural and flowing cross-country singletrack with gradual climbs, fast descents, rocky sections and tighter technical stretches. The network includes favourites such as the 5.1 km Yellow Brick Road, 4.4 km Woodley’s Loop and 4.1 km The Fox, alongside shorter trails including Lovers Lane, Reflectors, Valley of Opportunity, Button’s Fall, Watch Your Head, Conveyor and The Spine. Many trails connect, allowing riders to combine several loops into a longer Jarrahdale MTB ride or progressively move from easier green trails onto the blue-rated singletrack. The Fox is particularly well known for its fast, flowing riding through the forest, while Lovers Lane provides an easier introduction for newer mountain bikers. Langford Park is also a great option for families and social riding, with parking, toilets, picnic and barbecue facilities available at the recreation area. A dual-use trail connection links the park with Jarrahdale township, adding another option for riders wanting to explore the wider Jarrahdale and Perth Hills cycling network. RTS Tip: If it’s your first visit, use The Spine and Lovers Lane to get your bearings before progressing onto Woodley’s Loop, The Fox and Yellow Brick Road. The trails are designed to link together, so you can easily add extra loops as the legs allow. Mobile coverage can be patchy within Langford Park, so download your trail map before you ride rather than relying on reception once you’re in the forest.
