Lavington Sports Ground
About this ride
Lavington Sports Ground Velodrome – Albury The cycling velodrome at Lavington Sports Ground is a dedicated outdoor track in Hamilton Valley near Lavington, Albury, and home to the Lavington Panthers Cycling Club. AlburyCity identifies it as the only velodrome in the Albury region. The current 250-metre velodrome was constructed in 1988, replacing an older asphalt cycling track that previously surrounded the main sporting oval. After AlburyCity took ownership of the facility in 2009, improvements were made to the track and it continued to support junior and senior cycling training. The velodrome is lit for evening use and forms part of the wider Lavington Sports Ground precinct, alongside major AFL, cricket, football and netball facilities. Importantly for riders, AlburyCity states that the velodrome is available for community, commercial and individual use, although riders should contact the venue to arrange use of the facility. For riders searching for Lavington Velodrome, Albury Velodrome, track cycling in Albury-Wodonga, Lavington Panthers Cycling Club or cycling tracks in regional NSW, this is the key dedicated track cycling facility in the region. RTS Tip: Unlike some public-access cycling tracks, use of the velodrome is managed through Lavington Sports Ground. Check current access or make a booking before making a special trip, particularly if you’re planning a training session.
