About this ride

Legana Pump Track is a purpose-built riding facility within the Legana Recreation Youth Space in Tasmania’s West Tamar region. Built by Dirt Art and Rob Potter, the compact 500m² track uses a flowing series of rollers, berms and turns that riders can link together by generating speed through pumping rather than pedalling. Designed with local young people in mind, it’s a fun and accessible spot for bikes and a great place for riders to practise balance, cornering and bike-handling skills. The pump track forms part of a larger recreation precinct with a basketball court, skate features, playground equipment, climbing cubes, picnic tables, BBQs and a drinking fountain, making it an easy destination for families or a quick riding session. Opened in December 2020, it was the first pump track in the West Tamar municipality and has become a popular community facility for riders of different ages. RTS Tip: This is a great spot for kids, beginners and riders wanting to sharpen their cornering and pumping skills. Try completing laps with as little pedalling as possible — using the rollers and berms to build and maintain your speed is what pump tracks are all about. With BBQs, seating, a playground and drinking water alongside the track, it’s also an easy one to add to a family day out.
