About this ride
The Ballarat Sebastopol BMX Club track at Marty Busch Reserve in Sebastopol is one of Ballarat’s key BMX facilities, offering a purpose-built race track for riders ranging from young beginners through to experienced competitors. The track is operated by the Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club, which welcomes riders of all ages and abilities into its BMX program. The track has been significantly upgraded over the years, including a $200,000 redevelopment that delivered a new all-weather BMX surface, along with subsequent improvements including new starting gates and track lighting. It provides the full BMX race experience with a start gate, jumps, rollers and berms designed for training and competition. The club runs coaching, gate practice, training and racing, making this a great spot for riders wanting to progress their BMX skills or get involved in competitive racing. New riders are encouraged to give BMX a try, and the club has loan bikes and helmets available to help newcomers get started. Marty Busch Reserve is developing into an even bigger cycling hub, with the City of Ballarat also progressing a new criterium cycling track, with construction expected to commence in late 2026. RTS Tip: This is a proper BMX race facility, so it’s a great one for riders wanting to experience gates, jumps and race-style riding rather than a casual pump track. Check the club’s current schedule before visiting, as coaching, gate sessions, racing and private bookings can affect track access. The club welcomes newcomers, so if you’ve never tried BMX before, this is a good place to start.
