About this ride

Terrey Hills BMX Track – Sydney Northern Beaches Terrey Hills BMX Track is a purpose-built BMX racing facility at JJ Melbourne Hills Memorial Reserve in Terrey Hills, surrounded by native bushland on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The track is home to Manly Warringah BMX Club, a family-focused club welcoming riders from young balance-bike riders through to experienced BMX racers. The main competition-standard BMX track features the jumps, rollers, rhythm sections and banked corners expected from a dedicated race facility, providing plenty of opportunity to develop speed, jumping and bike-handling skills. Northern Beaches Council describes the precinct as one of Sydney’s highly regarded BMX facilities. Alongside the race track is a dedicated BMX pump track, opened in 2018. Its banked turns and rolling features are designed to be ridden by generating momentum through pumping rather than pedalling, adding another fun option for riders of different ages and abilities. The wider cycling facility also includes a criterium circuit. One of the great things about Terrey Hills is that the BMX facilities are open to the public during daylight hours outside Manly Warringah BMX Club competitions, training and maintenance activities. This makes it a useful option for riders who want to practise their BMX skills without necessarily entering a race. The club itself encourages newcomers, with opportunities for riders to try BMX and, where possible, borrow a bike or helmet during organised gate sessions. For riders searching for Terrey Hills BMX, BMX tracks on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Manly Warringah BMX Club, Sydney BMX tracks or BMX riding near Mona Vale, this is a fantastic facility to have on the ride list. RTS Tip: The track should only be ridden when dry — Northern Beaches Council specifically warns that riding when the surface is damp or wet can cause significant damage. Public access also pauses during allocated club activities, competitions and maintenance, so check current club information before making a special trip.
