About this ride

John Dunn Challenge Park in Kelmscott, Western Australia, is a purpose-built BMX and mountain bike skills park in the City of Armadale, around 25 km south-east of Perth. Designed for riders of all ages and abilities, the park features separate beginner and advanced pump tracks, jump lines ranging from beginner through to advanced/extreme, a skills loop, bike playground, bike safety track and a mountain bike skills trail around the perimeter. The progressive layout makes it a great place for kids and newer riders learning bike control, while experienced BMX and MTB riders can step up to the larger jumps and more technical features. Facilities include toilets, sheltered picnic areas, drinking water and a bike repair station, making John Dunn a great option for a family ride, skills session or a few hours practising on the bike. RTS Tip: John Dunn is built for progression, so start on the easier pump and jump tracks and work your way up rather than heading straight for the biggest features. It’s also a great skills stop before exploring the wider Armadale and Perth Hills mountain bike trails, particularly if you want to practise pumping, jumping and technical bike handling in a controlled environment.
